At Belmont County Animal Shelter our mission is to save the lives of stray abandoned animals in our care, reunite lost pets with their owners, protect people and pets in our community from health-related issues and ensure the public’s safety.
VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are key in uniting homeless shelter pets with loving families, which is both exciting and rewarding. Volunteers make a difference!
Please note: In order to be approved for adoption, all animals in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on core vaccines. We will verify this information with your vet.
THE APPLICATION MUST BE FILLED OUT IN ITS ENTIRETY OTHERWISE WE WILL NOT PROCESS AND YOU WILL BE DENIED. REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED!

Sundae is a 1.5-year-old female Domestic Short Haired cat who is not happy here at the shelter. She was found as a stray and does not like people or the indoors. We are looking for a nice farm for her to live on and roam freely. Please apply if you feel that Sundae could be the right fit for your farm!
Dog of the month!
Meet Alfie. He is a 1.5-year-old pittie who has been at the shelter since he was 6 months old. Alfie is not a fan of cats and can be dog selective but has made friends here at the shelter before. He is a staff favorite and it breaks our hearts that he is still here after all this time. No dog should have to grow up in the shelter environment. Alfie can be a bit leery of new people at first, but once he warms up to you, he is the bestest boy! Please apply for Alfie today!
